Find answers to common questions about using Hako.
Hako is a simple, taggable bulletin board where you can create and join discussions.
You are free to post almost anything! Whether it's questions, stories, personal thoughts, or even your own creative works, this website is a versatile platform for sharing and engaging with a wide range of topics. Posts are organised under tags that users choose based on the topic of their content, making it easier for others to discover and engage with. Even so, please ensure your posts comply with our Community Guidelines. We do not suggest posting any illegal, harmful, or explicit content.
All posts are publicly visible to anyone visiting the site. However, you can choose to post anonymously or use a pseudonym to protect your identity.
No, you can post without the need for an account. By default, you will be posting anonymously, but you can choose to use a pseudonym if you wish.
To create a new thread, go to the homepage and look for the Create a New Thread section.
You will need to fill out the following fields:
Tags are keywords that help categorise your thread and make it easier for others to find. When creating a thread, you can enter multiple tags that are relevant to your topic. For example, if you're posting about a programming question, you might use tags like programming, coding, or javascript.
Choose tags that accurately reflect the content of your thread to improve visibility and engagement from users interested in those topics.
When creating a thread, you can input tags in the Tags field. Simply type the desired tag and press Enter or Comma (,) to add it. You can add multiple tags by repeating this process. Make sure to choose tags that are relevant to your thread's content to help others find it more easily.
To reply to a thread, open the thread you want to respond to. Scroll down to the Post a Reply section. You can optionally select a specific reply to respond by clicking the reply icon on the thread you want to reply. This lets you respond to a reply within the main thread.
After selecting a thread to respond, fill in your content and complete the CAPTCHA, then click Post Reply.
Note:
Currently, there is no option to delete or edit posts once they are submitted. Please ensure that you review your content before posting.
If you come across a thread that you believe violates our community guidelines, you can report it by clicking the red flag icon located at the top right of the thread page. This will open a dialog where you can provide a reason for your report.
Once you submit the report, it will be reviewed by our moderators. You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your report has been successfully submitted. If there is an issue with the submission, an error message will be displayed, and you can try again later.
CAPTCHA is a security measure to prevent spam and automated posts. It helps ensure that only real users can post content. You will need to complete a CAPTCHA challenge each time you create a new thread or post a reply.
If you find the CAPTCHA difficult, you can refresh it to get a new challenge.
Please note that there is a cooldown period between CAPTCHA submissions to prevent abuse. If you encounter an error while submitting the CAPTCHA, please wait for the cooldown period to end before trying again.
The cooldown period usually lasts for one minute. CAPTCHA regeneration starts with a 5-second cooldown, and each subsequent attempt follows the Fibonacci sequence (5s, 5s, 10s, 15s, 25s, and so on).
Hako is a taggable bulletin board, meaning that threads are organised and discoverable through user-defined tags. Tagging is the second most important aspect of Hako, after the content itself, and should be done meticulously.
When creating a thread, you can add multiple tags that best describe the topic of your post. These tags help other users find threads that interest them.
You can click on any tag to view all threads associated with that tag. This makes it easier to explore specific topics and engage in discussions relevant to your interests.
